The Undergraduate Learning & Teaching Internship Scheme
Are you interested in medical education? The
Undergraduate Learning & Teaching Internship Scheme (ULTRIS) is a new initiative set up by
the Vice-Chancellery that will provides an opportunity for students to
undertake research that focuses on teaching and learning whilst still continuing
their normal studies and with the added incentive of receiving a $3,000 bursary
to complete the project. This would be well suited for students in year 4 in
2009, but is open to all students.

Inaugural LINCS Calendar 2009
LINCS is launching its first Calendar with pictures of YOUR medical experiences outside urban Australia. The theme is "Medicine far from home". 12 winning entries will have their photos published in the 2009 calendar, as well as be displayed in one of Perth's major hospitals (details TBA). Students in Health and Medical Research Conference 2008 - Open for Abstract Submission
The second annual Students in Health and Medical Research Conference (SHMRC) will be held this year on October 1st.
Any student who has completed research while studying at the UWA Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences can submit an abstract to present at this conference - B Med Sci, vacation work, Y4 research project, anything! Simply submit your < 400 word abstract using the attached form by Friday September 12th to

The received abstracts will be assessed, and the best abstracts will be selected for verbal presentation at the Conference. Cash prizes of $250 will be awarded, including best research submission and best presentation.
This event is aimed at recognizing the fantastic and innovative research work done by students. It is an opportunity to present at a conference and to be rewarded and recognized for your efforts. This is event is proudly supported by WAMSS and the UWA Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

New 79 bus route to improve transport to/from QEII
The 79 bus will begin servicing the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre from Monday 28 July. Aim is to significantly improve public transport options
for staff, patients and visitors by providing a new link to the
city.
Route: Wellington Street Bus Station to The Esplanade Bus Port viaMounts Bay Road,Hampden Road
and the QEIIMC site. It will operate every 15 minutes during peak
periods and every 30 minutes during off-peak periods Monday to Friday.
