Special General Meeting, merchandise giveaway and the half-year report

Posted by Andrew Chang, President

We are getting to the half-way point of the academic year and I have a few important announcements to make.

  1. Our Half-Yearly Impact report is published here. It outlines what projects and initiatives we have done so far for the better of our student community. Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions about the content covered or would like to find out more about the work we do.

  2. The Special General Meeting will be held on the 24th of June, venue TBD. Our secretary Jonathan Tushingham will be releasing a school-wide invite within 3 weeks of the meeting with the related agenda and documents of the meeting. All enrolled medical students at the University of Western Australia are invited to attend.

  3. Our new merchandise has just released with limited stock. Get in quick and order at our online store. We will be giving away one to each year level at the Special General Meeting in June, be sure to keep an eye out for giveaway details.

  4. We have made a return of our Humans of Medicine Project which you will be able to find under the “Students” Tab. Our first entry is from Professor Paul McGurgan who is our current Associate Dean (Students).

  5. I have spearheaded an exciting new project with Rural Health West to produce the Rural Health Medicine Network to formalise some of the material that is circulating around various online chats around our rural students. Over time this serves to be a comprehensive resource of rural clinical sites our students can be placed at.

I am super excited to be involved with so many new initiatives this year and I hope you are too. See you around!
